DNV-RP-C205 Environmental conditions and environmental loads

The objective of this recommended practice (RP) is to provide rational design criteria and guidance for the assessment and application of loads on marine structures subjected to wind, wave, current, and ice.

This RP is based on a joint industry project, state-of-the-art knowledge, using the most recent technical developments and understanding in computational modelling, analysis of environmental conditions, and loads on offshore structures. It incorporates results and experience from the latest research and development initiatives, together with design experience gained from recent projects.

This RP is aligned with industry-recognized codes and the latest published research. It provides a basis for essential information and guidance on the assessment of environmental conditions and loads. It is a common reference document for DNV structural standards and recommended practices, and is used across several core DNV services, including verification, advisory, and classification. In addition, this RP can be used to supplement the application of relevant national (e.g. NORSOK) and international (e.g. ISO) standards.
