COP26

Join DNV and industry experts to help turn targets into achievements

The 2021 United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference (COP26) is happening from 31 October to 12 November 2021.

DNV is committed to the UN International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) goal to reducing carbon intensity per transport by at least 40% by 2030, pursuing efforts towards 70% by 2050, and total annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from international shipping by at least 50% by 2050 compared to 2008, and work towards phasing them out as soon as possible.

Our latest Maritime Forecast to 2050 charts a practical path to help shipowners stay within or even exceed the carbon reduction targets using a new carbon risk framework and a decarbonization stairway model.

Decarbonization is not a race. It is a team sport: we lose together, or we win together. Collaboration is required from shipping's entire value chain and beyond if we are to achieve our common environmental goals.
