DATE - Direct Access to Technical Experts

What if you could get the same access to expert information as any of DNV GL’s surveyors? Well you can with DATE via our Veracity platform.


Accessing DATE


You can ask DATE experts anything from questions on certificate issues, postponements, survey requirements, evaluations of repair proposals, to class and statutory rule interpretations - you name it. 

More than 400 experts covering all technical fields in centres around the world are ready to answer your questions, regardless of time zone. They will normally reply within one working day (24 hours, see opening hours below), urgent requests can, upon request, be processed even faster. 

The DATE service is available 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday. The service also covers urgent cases during weekends and holidays. The 24/7 DATE service is provided by our units in Hamburg, Høvik, Houston, Piraeus and Singapore, and it is limited to Fleet in Service.

We also provide access to frequently asked questions so that you are able to find your answers even faster without having to contact us.

DATE via My Services on the Veracity platform also provides our customers with an overview of support cases − both current and from the past. This makes it possible for support information to be shared within a customer’s company.

To use DATE via My Services, you must have a Veracity user and be authorized to see private information about your company’s vessels. Read more about access here

DATE is also available as a mobile application for iOS and Android and allows creating, viewing, modifying and closing DATE cases on your mobile phone.
