International Women’s Day: celebrating equality in the energy industry

Since 1910, International Women’s Day has been celebrated on March 8th and the theme this year is ‘An equal world is an enabled world.’ Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.

One of the key messages highlighted by this year’s theme is that equality is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue and gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. At DNV we strive for inclusivity. In our industry it’s important that we attract more women to achieve a better gender balance and promote the change we want to see tomorrow.

For us, International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the amazing women that work within our energy business area.

Our new values we dare, we share, we care, also lend themselves well to this cause.

We dare to move the industry forward, whether through the energy transition or pushing the equal opportunities for the women of DNV.

We share the stories and achievements of our female experts throughout all regions, levels and disciplines within the organization.

We care about all individuals within DNV.
