How to activate ERS™ in emergency
24/7 shore-based damage control support to ships and offshore units via residual buoyancy, stability, strength, and drift predictions
When the vessel is in emergency response situation, ERS™ should be activated as soon as practically possible. The following activation routine is recommended:
- Collect information about the nature of the damage condition and the affected structures of the vessel (i.e. damaged structures, flooded compartments, floating position, cargo condition, etc.)
- Call the DNV 24/7 primary emergency number as provided with the ERS™ documentation
- Report the following data:
- Vessel type, name, and IMO number
- Name of person calling
- Describe the incident and the damages as known by the time of activation
- Specify your immediate requests to ERS™
- Provide phone number for communication
- Send an e-mail with vessel’s loading condition before the incident and attach other relevant documents (ERS™ data forms, images, drawings, handmade sketches, etc.)
