With the number of renewable power plants interconnected to the electrical network increasing, the behaviour evaluation of power generating unit (PGU) is getting more important. Evaluating the behaviour of PGUs during abnormal conditions, such as short circuits in the network, is of high importance to develop a comprehensive knowledge of their overall behaviour. To successfully integrate a higher portion of renewable energy, it is necessary for PGUs to deliver a contribution to help stabilise the grid during abnormal situations.
