NorMoor Joint Industry Project - Phase I & II
The NorMoor JIP is a global study covering Gulf of Mexico, Northern Europe and Brazil waters. Thus, areas with hurricanes, winter storms and combinations of wind sea and swell are covered. This will be applicable to most locations around the world, except for areas with squall conditions.
The objective of the JIP is to propose a mooring design code with a consistent analysis methodology and with safety factors (SF) that are in line with this methodology and calibrated at an appropriate target reliability level. This is achieved through reliability-based calibration for a range of different units, mooring systems, water depths and geographical locations.
