The objective of this standard (ST) is to provide technical requirements and guidance for the certification of equipment assemblies by DNV, and in doing so, safeguard:
- the health, safety and lives of personnel in, or near the equipment assembly
- any property, vessel or installation on or in which the equipment assembly is installed and being used
- the environment, from any unintentional release of toxic materials and/or pollutants.
This ST includes technical requirements and guidance for the certification of equipment assemblies listed in Sec.5. It addresses design aspects (including the choice of materials, layout, and the provision of adequate safety systems), manufacturing methods, testing and marking, installation, commissioning, and operation. Requirements and guidance in relation to modifications, repairs, and periodic maintenance are also included.
