DNV GL is extending our commitment to sustainable business practices to our value chain. As part of our corporate sustainability strategy, we are stepping up our efforts to communicate expectations, monitor the performance and improve the social, environmental and economic impact of our business partners globally. We do this not only to reduce risks, but also because we believe sustainable value chain management can be a strong driver of value and success – for business and for society.

As an international company with close to 400 offices in more than 100 countries, DNV GL has a large and complex value chain, with thousands of customers, suppliers and other business partners spread around the world. Current estimates show that we have around 80.000 customers, in more than 20 industries but primarily within maritime, oil & gas, energy, food & beverage and healthcare. With regards to our supply chain, a mapping exercise of all legacy DNV business units globally in 2010-2012 found more than 6000 first tiers suppliers in many categories ranging from office supplies, utilities, financial services, office rental & maintenance, marketing to sub-contractors.
