"Digital transformation” or “digitalization” have become very popular marketing terms in the maritime world today. Do you feel you are missing out on something? Are you worried that you may make bad investments into the wrong tech-bubble projects? Are you frustrated that you don’t really understand the “digital new-age” jargon that is so commonly thrown around today? (often by people who don't really understand it themselves)

If you answered "Yes" to any of the above questions, then this is the course for you. Don’t be blinded by the science. We will take a look behind the high and mighty terms and see the sober reality that often lies behind them. The technology is explained in layman's terms, always with illustrative examples from the industry and from direct experience.  We do not need to be in awe of the new technologies, but we would be fools not to use the tools that are available now.

This comprehensive training course has been designed as a blended learning course for online delivery until further notice. It consists of a combination of live online lectures and Q&A sessions, interspersed with self-study online modules and quizzes to bring more variety and flexibility to the course.

The course focuses on:

  • Where the vision is far ahead of reality
  • Where new labels are applied to old hats
  • What is meant by the "buzz words"
  • What is (financially) feasible now
  • What to adopt and implement now
