Converting a beam model
After having created a beam in Sesam for fixed structures, DNV GL’s FEM software, there is a set of scripts (provided by a so-called GeniE Snack Pack on our web site) for automatically converting the beams into plates and shells. There is even a script for converting a whole tubular joint including a user selected part of the incoming chord and braces to a shell model. After such geometry conversions an FE plate/shell model may be created.
