DNV GL recognised at inaugural wind investment awards ceremony in London.
LONDON, UK, 31 October 2019 – DNV GL has won advisory of the Year at the inaugural European Wind Investment Awards, organised by A word about Wind. The European Wind Investment Awards celebrates the best practice in the European wind industry, which will help it to thrive in the coming years.
The 13 categories were judged by some of the biggest names in wind and DNV GL saw off stiff competition from Everoze, Wood, Mott MacDonald, Green Giraffe, Augusta & Co and Amsterdam Capital Partners, to win the Advisory of the Year category. DNV GL was also shortlisted in the Innovation Award category for its WindGEMINI digital twin for wind turbine operations.
Wind power has a significant part to play in the future energy mix. DNV GL’s Energy Transition Outlook 2019, forecasts that 30% of all global electricity production will come from wind energy by 2050, with 12% from offshore wind and 18% from onshore wind.
