The bulk carrier market has endured challenging times since the end of 2008, during which no one has been spared from cost-cutting initiatives. This cost-cutting can result in reduced maintenance standards across the bulk carrier fleet, which, in turn, may lead to more frequent class and port state control (PSC) deficiencies and, ultimately, detentions or repairs involving lengthy downtime.
Using our Big Data expertise, we have extracted operational data from the 1,000 bulk carriers operating under DNV GL class today. This allowed us to identify measures that will help you to achieve safer and compliant operations at minimum cost. These findings are summarized in this publication.
