ALTERA WAVE

Altera Infrastructure Norway AS
ALTERA WAVE

The vessel was designed and built to meet higher standards in terms of hull structure fatigue life, navigation bridge design, safety redundancy and environmental features, crew accommodation comfort class and survey arrangements. ALTERA WAVE is considered one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly shuttle tankers in the world to date, also known as an “e-shuttle”. The vessel is equipped with a redundant electrical propulsion driving two CPP propellers, complemented by one tunnel and three azimuth thrusters for dynamic positioning operations. The electrical power plant is driven by four main generators with dual-fuel engines capable of running on LNG as the primary fuel or diesel fuel complemented by two battery packs of 1,808 kWh total capacity that contribute to lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, providing a higher flexibility of power distribution, peak shaving and blackout prevention functions.
