CMA CGM BALI is part of the pioneering series of 15,000 TEU LNG dual fuel vessels ordered by Eastern Pacific Shipping and a trailblazing project in the Maritime industry which responded to demand for greener tonnage. Sailing under the flag of Malta, it is one of the world’s first neo-Panamax container vessels powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and using the MAN B&W 11G90ME-GI engine. It is equipped with 12,000 cubic metre self-supporting prismatic fuel tank (Type-B) and capable of completing round trip voyage between East Asia and Europe, roughly 22,000 nautical miles. Besides the fuel selection, fuel saving items such as highly efficient rudder system, shore power connection and green environment waste management are introduced to reduce emissions. Strong focus has also been given to maximize container carrying capacity through an integrated stowage system of hatch cover, lashing bridge and stowage device design - all to reduce the carbon footprint of transported TEU unit per nautical mile.
