There is no net zero without Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). The most durable method of storing carbon dioxide which has been removed from the atmosphere is via geological storage, where it will remain locked away for millennia. To help finance these projects CDR credits are generated and sold in the Carbon Markets demonstrating that a trustworthy process has been followed will support the development and credibility of the market.

Durably stored CDR will have to scale from a negligible volume today to a multi-gigaton per annum scale by 2050. Bottlenecks to such a large volume of carbon removed and stored can be found across the value chain – access to cost effective geological storage, certainty in carbon markets, sufficient incentives for capture facilities and companies.

This roundtable event will bring together some of the key individuals and companies required to realize the full value chain of durable carbon removal: from emission points, capture technology providers, transport and storage and end customers.
