The Digital Pipeline Solutions Forum (DPSF) is the first colloquium of its kind to address how the 4th Industrial Revolution – a new era that builds and extends the impact of digitization in new and unanticipated ways – will indelibly change the pipeline sector in terms of its daily operations and management.

Digitization, efficient storage, accurate alignment, and improved accessibility of expansive data sets have paved the way for next‐generation data science and advanced analytic methods to optimize and improve asset integrity performance.

This forum aims to create a greater understanding of the needs the industry has now to ensure the success of not only digital transformation and applied data science, but also the impact and evolving contribution of “cyber-physical systems” involving entirely new capabilities for people and machines.

DPSF 2022 will be devoted to these two primary themes:

Track 1: The Digital Pipeline
Track 2: Cyber-systems

The event focuses on needs the industry has now to ensure the success of not only digital transformation and applied data science, but also the impact and evolving contribution of “cyber-physical systems” as they propel entirely new capabilities for people and machines.

  • Virtual systems and integrity processes
  • Predictive analytics for engineering assessment & decision-making
  • Creating a digital twin of your pipeline
  • Sensor and monitoring data acquisition, curating, communication & analysis
  • Automation of inspection run comparisons and alignment
  • Constraints, interpretability, and validation of Machine Learning applications

  1. "Digital Transformations Required to Support the Industry 4.0 Era"

    Digitalization is on the doorstep of the industry already faced with challenges from aging assets, lean operating budgets, tighter regulations, new fuel mixes and a generational change in the workforce. Operators are faced with complex investment decisions built on immerging technologies. The purpose of my presentation is to highlight some key elements to be considered during this transformation.

  2. "Real Time Networks"
    May 19 – 9:00 a.m
    David Gower, Principal Gas Industry Consultant

    How do gas distribution companies make best use of smart meter data and produce an approach to network modelling that supports real-time operation and meets the challenges of understanding flows across all conditions? Collecting detailed data, at a suitable granularity, for all consumers may be costly both in terms of metering and the handling of data. The Real-Time Networks project offers an alternative practical approach to the problem.
