The DNV offshore pipeline training programme is founded on the Recommended Practices covering all aspects of pipeline technology from concept to operation.
The training programme has a holistic design. It is built up as a module concept, with a generic course superficially covering all different areas of pipeline technology. Further, several specialist courses go deeper into each subject area.
This introductory course will interest professionals and engineers involved in pipelines activities. It gives a basic understanding of pipelines, ranging from transport of un-processed hydrocarbons, via trunk lines for oil/gas, and further to distribution networks. The course is recommended before attending specialist courses.
Modern pipeline design enables the engineer to fully optimise and tailor each pipeline to specific needs. This course will give an understanding of the design philosophy of the pipeline design standard, teach how to perform simple wall thickness design and give an overview of relevant failure modes.
This course will give an understanding of how to design new and assess existing pipelines with respect to global buckling of HP/HT pipelines, whether pipelines are exposed or buried. The course will interest pipeline engineers that perform design activities or want an insight in design challenges.
This course presents an approach to free spanning pipelines which enables a more optimized design, reducing the need for seabed intervention. The course builds on an updated version of Recommended Practice which considers experiments and learning from the Ormen Lange project, as well as experience from use of the previous version.
This course builds on a standard that considers the various factors in the seabed environment that affect pipelines, and provides design criteria that applies in order to maximize pipeline stability. It will enable engineers to perform on-bottom stability design of submarine pipelines.
This course will give insight in how to analyse pipeline integrity with respect to trawl interference loads, as part of pipeline integrity. It covers subjects such as trawling aspects, design process, safety format, trawl impact, pull-over, hooking, coating impact, and mitigation, and how these are reflected in DNV standards.
This course will interest engineers evaluating pipelines in operation or working with inspection planning. The course will enable engineers to perform strength assessment of corroded pipelines and covers corrosion defects, mechanisms and development, as well as uncertainties associated with in-line inspection results.
This introduction to pipeline integrity management will give knowledge of how to perform an integrity assessment. It goes through the overall risk philosophy and methodology applied, in addition to main damage causes and mechanisms for pipelines. The course is relevant for management as well as engineers.
