
This 6 day masterclass is for everyone who wishes or needs to look at IT from a financial viewpoint. Whether developing, buying or selling software, auditing projects, or buying or selling IT Services.
Hands on approach
Apart from theoretical knowledge, you will gain hands-on experience in doing IT-investment analyses and other financial techniques, such as activity based costing of IT portfolio management. You will practice this in a case study from your own working practice. You will learn how to make well founded decisions by systematically gathering information, analysing it and presenting your conclusions. The results will directly benefit your projects.

- Application of investment selection - making a business case
- Portfolio management
Module 2
- Decision-supporting activities during and after the investment:Rationalization of IT in Telecom Operators, (real life case)
- Quantifying Software, or the value of software
- Costs allocation: insight into the cost structure of IT and making choices that are economically sound. Activity Based Costing
- On charge IT-costs
In this module you will present your own case to a panel consisting of your fellow participants. You will prepare this presentation in your group.They will give feedback on your draft presentation. The day concludes with a plenary meeting in which feedback is given to each presentation. After this a final wrap-up will answer all remaining questions and sums up lessons learned.
Target audience
The masterclass is aimed at anyone who is or will be involved with financial decisions on IT whether in the role of client, supplier, manager, (IT) controller, IT-architect, project manager, account manager or as a business/sales consultant.
Prerequisites
Bachelor/ academic level. Financial knowledge not required.
