Enterprise Architecture consists of methods and models for the organisational structure and the design and implementation of processes, the continuous stream of information, and the infrastructure. Within organisations various architecture domains typically exist. Each domain uses its own languages to model and visualize architecture. These models are the basis of communication, discussion and coordination with stakeholders.
ArchiMate
ArchiMate is an architecture language that offers visualisation techniques for a better communication with various stakeholders and creates a better overview of the various domains. ArchiMate offers the Enterprise Architect an extra instrument to support and improve the architecture process.
Programme
In this two-day course DNV Academy, in partnership with the Telematica Institute, provides the opportunity to get acquainted with architecture models that conform to IEEE-1471 and ArchiMate. On day 1 the concepts of architecture and modeling are introduced, at the end of which we will work on a case study. During day 2 we will continue working on the case study, deepening your knowledge of Archimate step by step.
Learning goals
During the course you will gain insight into:
- Architecture modeling according to IEEE-1471 recommended practice
- The meta model of the ArchiMate language and its relation with UML
- The applicability of ArchiMate in specific cases
For anyone who wishes to gain – in a short time – more insight into modelling enterprise architecture in general and more specifically in the Archimate language. Anyone who is involved in the creation or evaluation of integral architectural models will benefit from this course.
