BI is a cyclical process coupled with the strategy of the organisation. Business targets are met sooner with the help of insights that are gained and actions that are taken on the basis of information gathered by means of successfully implemented BI. In this masterclass you will learn what it takes to design and implement successful Business Intelligence.

Programme:
Day 1: Business Intelligence: architecture of gathering of information
The Corporate Information Factory, data warehouse and determination of its architecture based on what the organisation needs, ETL, data mart, ODS, structured and unstructured data, meta data and topology. Basic principles of dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemes.


Day 2: Business Intelligence and Corporate Strategy
During this day we will introduce Business Intelligence in relation to the strategy and result areas of the organisation. We will talk about KPI’s, the BI navigator and the BI maturity matrix and how they support the development and organisation of BI. We will discuss how to organise BI projects and how to start a Business Intelligence Competence Centre.


Day 3: Business Intelligence, architecture of analysing information and applications.
On day 3 we will first focus on the various BI analysing instruments, such as Reporting, OLAP visualisation, data mining and text minig. Various OLAP tools will be compared. We will look at User types to assess suitability of analysing instruments. Furthermore we will talk about portals, cockpits, groupware and collaboration. In a workshop we’ll discuss and work on the complete BI Cycle and its architecture.

Day 4: Business Intelligence applications
During this last day the participants will learn about the applications of Business Intelligence in Supply Chain Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, Compliance and CRM.
