DNV provides three ISO 27001 courses, the Foundation course, the Internal Auditor course and the Lead Auditor course.

The Foundation course is designed for students seeking a better understanding of ISO 27001 and the basic concepts in an Information Security Management System (ISMS). The Internal Auditor course teaches participants how to perform information security audits within their organisation against ISO 27001, as well as the concept of using the Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) cycle for establishing the ISMS. The Lead Auditor course is designed to equip students with the required knowledge and skills to perform first, second and third party audits of ISMS against ISO 27001. Interrelations with other relevant standards are also discussed.
