COURSE: Sesam modelling and analysis (GeniE)

This 3 day course introduces the participants to GeniE as the beam/plate/shell modeller in Sesam. Furthermore, interaction with the analysis program Sestra and the postprocessor Xtract is covered. The course consists of lectures and practical exercises.

If you have interest in hydrodynamic analysis you may want to extend your knowledge by also attending the course Hydrodynamic analysis of offshore structures (Wadam).

Topics covered are:

• Introduction to Sesam
• Concept modelling – basic features (GeniE)
• Linear static structural analysis (Sestra)
• Results presentation - basic features (Xtract)
• Steps necessary to do a superelement analysis

Prerequisite:
No previous experience in the use of Sesam is required. However, basic knowledge in FE analysis is recommended.
