COURSE: Marine transportation and installation analysis

This 5 day course introduces the participants to the Sesam programs for transportation and installation analysis. The course consists of presentations followed by practical exercises.

Topics covered are:

• Hydrodynamic analysis of barge with jacket (HydroD, Wadam)
• The corresponding statistical postprocessing of frequency domain results (Postresp)
• A brief introduction to the preprocessors used for creating the combined barge and jacket model (Patran-Pre, GeniE, Presel)
• Demonstration of advanced graphical visualisation of analysis results (animation features of Xtract)
• General postprocessing (Xtract)
• Analysis of the jacket launching and upending processes (Installjac)
• A brief introduction to jacket capacity checking (Framework)

Prerequisite:
Some knowledge in hydrodynamic analysis and basic knowledge of Sesam is assumed.
