COURSE: Jacket design

This course introduces the participants to the Sesam programs for structural and wave load analysis of jackets. The course consists of lectures followed by practical exercises.

Topics covered are:

• Structure modelling (GeniE, Presel)
• Hydrodynamic analysis – waves, current (Wajac)
• Structural analysis (Sestra)
• Pile and soil modelling and analysis (Splice)
• General postprocessing (Xtract)
• Capacity checking (Framework)
• Jacket fatigue analysis (Framework )

Prerequisite:
No previous experience in the use of Sesam is required. However, basic knowledge in the FE analysis is recommended.
