Date and venue: on request

This course is an introduction to the Nauticus Hull program for calculation of hull girder strength and local strength of plates and stiffeners according to Rule requirements. Focus will be on basic modelling of a longitudinal cross section by use of the Section Scantlings modelling program.
Topics covered are:
Modelling of hull longitudinal structure, applying plate and stiffeners properties, compartments and load specifications. How to generate a report for verification and check of compliance with Rule requirements. Use of the Brix Explorer tool for job management, vessel particulars specifications, files and model handling.
Also modelling and frame structure analysis by use of the 3-dimensional programs 3D-Beam will be covered.
In addition a brief introduction will be given to the program PULS (Panel Ultimate Limite State) for non-linear buckling analysis of stiffened or un-stiffened plate structures.
Prerequisite:
The course is suitable for new users of Nauticus Hull and is also a useful introduction to the other courses described herein.
