Despite huge investments, companies experience that knowledge assets in one part of the organisation are not necessarily known to other parts of the same organisation. A company’s ability to rapidly exchange and spread knowledge can be directly linked to productivity and performance.
DNV Software creates and maintains software tools for the design and maintenance of assets in the maritime, offshore and process industries. Some tools are easy to use and easy to understand, while others require proper training and understanding to be used successfully. It might be easy to change a parameter in a software tool, but complex to understand the effect of that change. It takes time and knowledge to find the right way to utilise software tools in the engineering process, and even more effort to safeguard the knowledge.
To be able to serve our customers better, DNV Software will increase the offerings for training courses globally. A brand new Training Catalogue with a description of each training course is made and the course schedule will be posted on our training website. We hope you take the opportunity to attend training courses to learn and share knowledge. We strive to meet customer requirements in our software development, knowing that functionality that is not used or known is useless. We would like to teach you about how to use our software tools and how to utilise new functionality, and we would like to learn from you how we can improve.
In addition to training courses as an arena for knowledge sharing, our user conferences are key to make sure we are aligned with your software needs. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have been attending and contributing to our user conferences. So far this year we have held user conferences in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Høvik, London, Houston, Kobe, Shanghai and Busan. Rio is scheduled for the coming month. We look forward to meeting many of you there to share knowledge.
