When DNV Software offered an open Phast and PhastRisk public training course in French for the second time, there was a full house again in Paris. The third course is now being planned due to the popular demand for training in local language. Several courses are planned for 2008; these will be advertised on our website in due time.
Dr Pascal le Gal and Yaritza Foucaud did an excellent job conducting the second training for 20 participants at the Meridien Etoile hotel. With their multi-lingual skills, we are now able to comply with customer requests for on-site training in French. In addition, we are able to adopt a more flexible approach by customising these courses where necessary, as customers often request a combination of standard and advanced topics. We have also been able to include customised case studies more relevant to clients’ specific requirements.

The course attendees came from several companies: Altran Eilis, Atlantic Ingénierie, Bureau Veritas, Davidson PACA, Ligeron, FRCA Picardi, Sechaud Environnement, Specia Ingénierie, Secomat, Total EP, and URS France.
Marcel Dembélé of TOTAL EP says, “I appreciated this training very much, as it gave me a more precise and complete overview of the capabilities of Phast and PhastRisk. Phast is user-friendly, but necessitates a good sense of physics magnitude in order to avoid common pitfalls in results rendering. I am particularly pleased with the improvement announcements by DNV Software in Phast 6.53, in particular the Multi-Components option which will be very useful in the oil industry, dealing primarily with blend mixtures. PhastRisk is a complex tool, but indispensable to master in order to perform and interpret detailed QRA.”
