He obtained his PhD from Shanghai Jiaotong University. “Pan Zhiyun is employee number 21 in DNV Software Greater China since we established the unit in April 2005. He takes up the position as software support engineer and will be responsible for supporting our fast-growing user community in Greater China,” says Øystein Goksøyr, DNV Software Regional Manager for Greater China.
Sven Ullring, DNV’s CEO 1985–2000, recently visited to congratulate DNV Greater China on its achievements. During
his leadership, he strongly emphasised the importance of being present in the region. Sven Ullring mentioned that it took 15 years before DNV made any profits in China. He also stressed how the collaboration with Norwegian and Chinese governments, and with the China Classification Society, created a strong foundation for growth.
The pace is expected to continue. To cope with the future demand and market opportunities, CEO of DNV Henrik O. Madsen recently stated that the number of employees in China could reach 1,000 in a few years.
