Phast and Safeti 6.5, the market leading tools for process industry consequence modelling and quantitative risk analysis were released at the end of February 2006.
The release incorporates many enhancements, including improved handling of large data sets through advances in the excel spreadsheet input and more detailed intuitive graphical input of scenario and risk object data through the GeoMedia GIS-powered graphical user interface. These are now available to over 500 maintained users.
We have already held a number of public and private upgrade training classes, which have been well attended. With additional improvements to the display of lethality ellipses for radiation effects, jet fire modelling and fireball modelling, and the introduction of user-defined effect zones, all users will see improvements to the quality and flexibility of their work with Phast and Safeti.
The new release can be downloaded from the support site, or you can request a CD from software.support@dnv.com. The new features included in the release were described in detail in DNV Software News 3/2005, page 18.
Upgraded licensing system
We have taken the opportunity to introduce significant enhancements to DNV Software’s implementation of the FLEXlm licensing system, and you can now benefit from USB security keys and the ability to check-out concurrent network licenses. The enhancements enable you to take these ‘offline’ for remote use of Phast and Safeti when you are not able to connect to your LAN or WAN. For more information, please contact your local technical support office.
Hot off the press!
Just prior to going to press with this issue of DNV Software News, we decided that a number of potential improvements could be made in a few specific models which would benefit all users. A patch version 6.51 is available for downloading.
