DNV Software, together with DNV Technology Services, exhibited at this year’s Deep Offshore Technology (DOT) Conference & Exhibition held in the city of Vitória, capital of the Espirito Santo state in southeast Brazil. The Espirito Santo basin is the home of the largest discoveries of oil recently made in the country.

With the 2005 DOT Conference and Exhibition breaking the record for attendees outside the US, where it takes place every other year, there was much interest in DNV Software’s products and solutions for offshore design, Sesam, and asset integrity management, Field Life Cycle Manager. DNV Software was represented by our local representative in Rio, Fabio Bittencourt, and Nigel Winder from DNV Software’s London office.

They also used the event as an opportunity to meet up with one of Sesam’s longterm users in Brazil, Petrobras, who has recently expanded its usage following a significant increase in oil exploration and production in the region. With operators today very much concerned about optimum, continuous, and safe use of assets, Petrobras was particularly interested in DNV Software’s solutions for asset integrity management.
