A solution for managing asset integrity through coupling the inspection management system Orbit+ IDS and the quantitative risk-based inspection software Orbit Onshore.

Orbit+ IDS is a framework through which you can store your inspection data, monitor assets and implement inspection plans. Once asset integrity goals are set, the risks can be assessed in Orbit Onshore. Corrosion rates and other relevant information can be exported from Orbit+ IDS to Orbit Onshore, where they are used in the RBI analysis. Results from the analysis, such as next inspection date and inspection effectiveness recommendations, can be imported back into Orbit+ IDS. These recommended inspections can then be used to plan inspection activities and tasks in Orbit+ IDS, the results stored and assessed to refine integrity goals and complete the cycle.

Orbit+ IDS has an asset builder to store all relevant asset information in a hierarchy that is compatible with the Orbit Onshore equipment definitions. Organisational roles and responsibilities can be defined so that, with Orbit+ IDS deployed across a corporate WAN, tasks can be easily delegated and followed up.

Many different document types can be stored with the Orbit+ IDS. Autocad drawings can be used to drill down through the asset hierarchy, digital drawings, sketches, pictures and movies can be stored at any level. For example, a picture taken on site of corrosion can be stored in the asset history.

The close links with Orbit Onshore allow risks to be minimised and inspection budgets and effectiveness to be optimised. Orbit+ IDS contains a generic excel import/export utility that can be configured to your specific needs. Further, the whole system is totally configurable to display or capture specific data you require and the layout
content of screens and reports may be customised.

Orbit+ IDS can also be linked to other peripheral devices and software such as MUT data loggers, PDAs, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning e.g. SAP) and GIS (Geographical Information Systems) software, plus much more.
