Extended+training+for+Risk+products

Our new advanced Phast and Safeti courses for consequence and risk modelling provide far more detailed information on the modelling than standard software introductory courses.

Modelling
The new modelling courses emphasise the mathematical modelling and do not address the application in specific software.

Advanced Modelling
We recommend these courses to advanced users, users of the model spreadsheets, and also those interested in modelling. They provide an overview of each model supported by a detailed discussion of appropriate values for input, including modelling parameters, and correct interpretation of results. They include an overview of the model validation, limitations and possible future enhancements. The courses will ensure the most accurate model predictions for your areas of concern. Courses can be provided on: discharge, dispersion and pool evaporation, fire and radiation, explosion and risk modelling.

General Source Term and Dispersion Modelling
We recommend this course to all involved in this area. It starts with a general introduction and overview of scenarios. For each scenario the following is included: an overview of the governing physics (physical model); the corresponding mathematical models (general theory); an overview of the solution methods of the mathematical model (with simplifications); an overview of the available software products on the market for solving the relevant problems (ranging from simple screening/empirical models to advanced CFD modelling); recommendations on when to use which models/methods; an overview of experiments available for model validation; and areas of further research.

Custom Modelling Training
We also offer courses tailored specifically for you. This can be customised to meet your specific needs and can include advice to help resolve your specific problems.

Phast
The new Phast courses do not emphasise the modelling itself, but the advanced application of the models in the software.

Advanced Toxics
The course focuses on how to set up particular toxic scenarios in Phast and how to interpret results, specifically how the dispersion results links to the toxic results.

Advanced Discharge and Dispersion
This course focuses on how the models can be applied to a diverse range of release scenarios and how to interpret the different results, especially linking the various reports and graphs together.
