DNV was established in 1864, with the objective of safeguarding life, property and the environment. This is still our stated objective today and in the 21st century, software is of crucial importance in achieving our objectives. DNV Software is very proud to deliver products and solutions that help our customers manage risk in all phases of the asset life-cycle in the offshore, marine and process industries.

In this issue of DNV Software News we talk extensively about how we are working to meet this objective in the marine industry, in particular through our Nauticus product suite. Having launched Nauticus Early Design in June, we have also extended Nauticus Hull to support common rules for tankers, providing much better support to shipbuilding. As a result, the Korea Shipbuilders’ Association has already stated its preference for the Nauticus Hull software.

An important breakthrough for our Best Engineering Practice concept based on the BRIX technology has also been achieved in the Korean market. We are now running a campaign using this experience to show how significant productivity improvements can be achieved using the BRIX technology.

Continuing with this theme, life, property and the environment can be safeguarded by ensuring that our future designers and decision makers are well trained. In support of this, DNV Software has entered into a strategic cooperation with the Institute of Marine Technology to improve education of students using the Nauticus and SESAM software suite which will be useful in their future professional lives.
