DNV Software continues in its quest to provide local language software for the Chinese market.

As discussed in the last issue of DNV Software News (see links), one of the key requirements in the Chinese market is to have local language support for DNV Software’s analysis products.

Following hot-on-the-heels of Nauticus 3D Beam, the Chinese version of which was launched in May 2005, and the Orbit+ Suite, DNV Software is now developing a version of Orbit Onshore which supports Chinese. This development has been a collaborative effort between DNV Software and DNV Technology Services, Asia Pacific, with the former carrying out the necessary software development, and the latter providing translation services for both the software and documentation.

A beta version of Orbit Onshore Chinese was presented at the APEX Conference in Shanghai, China. At the same time, this version was delivered to our colleagues in DNV Technology Services, Region Asia Pacific, for use in marketing the Orbit software and services in Region Greater China.

DNV Software and DNV Technology Services have a unique relationship in this region, in that DNV Technology Services acts as DNV Software’s agent for Orbit sales, marketing the software in conjunction with their RBI services to industry.
