DNV Software is happy to announce that Vik-Sandvik is extending our relationship by implementing the Sesam software for finite element and wave load analysis. Vik-Sandvik is already a major user of Nauticus Hull Rule Check and 3D Beam. Says Roger Johnsen, Design Manager of Vik-Sandvik: “Since our previous FEM program NISA is no longer in the market, we had to look for new software, and after some research our choice became Sesam from DNV Software.”

Continues Johnsen, “One of the great advantages of Sesam is that DNV Software is working directly with the ship and oil industry, and we are therefore confident that this finite element tool will meet our needs. The possibility of adding specialised modules ensures that we always have the best tool for the jobs. This saves hours, and ensures accurate results. We have included the Wave load module, which we will use for one of our latest projects; a large combined heavy lift and pipe-laying vessel. Another advantage is the link to Nauticus Hull, a program we use extensively. Vik-Sandvik is at the moment designing many large special vessels for the offshore industry and others. These ships are often unique in regards to equipment and design, and it is important for us to always have the best tools on the market.”
