VerIT OnBoard is a complete infrastructure solution designed especially for small environments where there may be limited or no WAN communication to the organisation's network. The solution is particulary applicable onboard ships where IT support personnel experience accessibility challenges.
Purpose
Using VerIT Onboard, the installation and configuration of a server and its associated clients is an automated process. Set-up of all required applications and servers is quick and standardised.
The solution includes easy-to-use management tools that can be either utilised onboard by the ship's personnel or executed remotely by IT support. VerIT OnBoard also comes with a standard monitoring solution that alerts onshore support when a critical event occurs on the server (including monitoring of event logs, server hardware, backup and server utilisation).
The deployment of new server services and/or end-user applications is fully automated, and onboard personnel only need basic IT skills in order to install, configure and update the IT infrastructure.
VerIT - Connecting business
The VerIT standard from DNV provides a cost-effective and secure IT infrastructure for the maritime industry - on board and in the office. VerIT has been in use since 2002, and has proven track record in complex and international organisations.
