Purpose

Nauticus Machinery is a set of calculation tools intended for strength assessment of rotating machinery components and systems. The software package is divided into direct coupled systems, geared systems and generator sets. Most of the calculation tools in the package can be used for design and troubleshooting purpose, while other are Rule based.

DNV Software has been in the market with machinery-related software for more than 20 years and Nauticus Machinery is the successor to DNV’s DOS-based PILOT applications. The software is used by a wide range of component manufacturers, yards and consultancy companies world wide.

Market driven development
Nauticus Machinery is a market-driven modular system enabling users to configure the package based upon their needs. Some manufacturers are involved in all the components in a propulsion system, i.e. propeller, shafting, gears, couplings, dampers and engines, while others are specializing on single components.

Nauticus Machinery is divided into the 3 following packages:

• Direct coupled propulsion systems
• Geared propulsion systems
• Generator sets

Each package will consist of a selection of calculation tools. Once you install Nauticus Machinery on your computer all packages will be available. It is all controlled by the license file.
