The Nauticus Machinery package for Direct coupled propulsion systems is focusing on the shafting system, dampers, couplings and the engine. Some of the tools are intended for system analysis, e.g. vibrations, while others are intended for component analysis.

Powerful alignment software will help you to obtain the best alignment for the bearings in the propulsion system. You can also use the same geometrical model to perform both whirling (lateral) vibration and axial vibration analysis.

The torsional vibration software provides effective modelling and analysis techniques for calculation of vibration levels and resonance ranges in the propulsion system. After analysing the vibration levels, the shaft fatigue tool can calculate the allowable stress levels.

The direct coupled propulsion system package currently consists of the following MODULES:

Nauticus Machinery Shaft Alignment

Calculation of bearing loads, moments and stresses for shaft alignment on marine propulsion plants. Natural frequencies for whirling and axial vibration can be calculated with the extended version of the software.

Nauticus Machinery Torsional Vibration

Easy, reliable and effective software for shafting systems

Nauticus Machinery Shaft Fatigue Capacity

Load carrying capacity for shafts in marine propulsion plants or auxiliaries onboard ships or mobile offshore units. Life-cycle calculations of shafts based on basic or simplified methods.
