Nauticus+Hull+Wave+Load+Analysis

Increased ship performance by accurate prediction of wave loads and the ships behaviour in sea.

Nauticus Hull Wave Load Analysis provides ship designers with the new generation hydrodynamic software.

All ship types, all speeds, all sea directions, all six degrees of freedom are accounted for in a state of the art hydrodynamic software package.

Advanced 3D wave analysis programs are combined with powerful results processing tools in a complete system. The benefit for the user is improved knowledge about the ship performance and strength both in the design and operation of ships.

"Real-time" visualisation of results
The advanced Viewer allows designers to animate ship motions in any sea state and view them interactively. The user can easily change the view of the vessel by rotating and zooming from any angle above and below the waterline. The corresponding results from the Wave Load and Finite Element Analysis can be examined in “real time” giving an excellent visualisation of wave forces, dynamic response and behaviour on the vessel. The Viewer gives the user a powerful and effective tool for understanding and communicating the impact of ship design and structural fitness of vessels.

Features

  • No limitations on vessel speed, wave frequency or wave direction
  • Three dimensional solution in time domain with transfer to frequency domain
  • Motion control in sway and yaw by active rudders controlled by auto-pilot
  • Statistical post-processing
  • Load distribution and actual motion of the ship hull can be visualised and animated
  • Geometry and mass distribution can be automatically generated from the Nauticus product model
  • Modern and user friendly pre- and postprocessors

Benefits
Nauticus Wave offers benefits both for ship designers and operators:

  • Improved understanding of structural behaviour in various sea states leads to more optimal designs and safer ship operation
  • Ships can be operated more safely by providing ship's Master with the necessary information for selecting speed and heading in rough seas.
  • Fuel consumption can be reduced by comparing design alternatives and thereby optimise wave resistance
  • Passenger comfort may be improved through better understanding of a ship’s motion characteristics

Reliable and accurate
Nauticus Wave has been used by DNV for a large number of projects and several ships have been classified based on load calculations made with the software. Extensive model testing and full scale validation of results are the basis for the program.

Availability
Nauticus Wave is the most comprehensive package in the Nauticus product family. In addition to the wave analysis tools as described above, this package includes all software products in the Rule Check, Basic and FEA packages. Through our Nauticus Seakeeping package, the wave analysis tools are also available for customers who do not wish to buy the Finite Element programs of Nauticus Hull.

MODULES:

HydroD

Hydrodynamic Design of floating structures. HydroD has been developed to help engineers become much more productive, and at the same achieve a higher degree of quality when performing hydrodynamic analysis.

Time domain hydrodynamic analysis - Wasim

Non-linear time domain hydrodynamic analysis of fixed and floating vessels with or without forward speed, including calculation of global motions and local pressure loading on the vessel.

Statistical response calculation - Postresp

Postresp is a graphical postprocessor for statistical processing and presentation of response in frequency and time domain
