GeniE is a product based on conceptual modelling and analysis of offshore structures providing a basis for life cycle product management. These techniques are proven to save cost and to increase quality.

Conceptual modelling employed in GeniE makes the engineer more productive and at the same time increases quality when modelling a jacket or a topside structure. The features for importing or exporting data – like for example importing geometry from a CAD system or exporting model data to office products like Excel – further raise the level of productivity and quality.

GeniE is a program where the user can do modelling of structure, equipments, loads and environment.

The analysis - hydrodynamic as well as strength calculations - and evaluation of results are also done within the same program. GeniE is built for design since the program allows for frequent changes in both structural and equipment layout.

The use of concept technology forms the basis for a product information model which can be used throughout a structure’s life-cycle. From this single concept model different analysis and code check models can be created for use in design, installation or operation of the structure.

Models created in GeniE also support the superelement technique. Hence a model may be used in a global model, like for example FPSO’s and semisubmersibles.

GeniE is ideal for making a correct mass model for use in dynamic or hydrodynamic analysis since the centre of gravity for each equipment and structural part is correctly accounted for.
