DNV Software has made the strategic decision to invest in the Middle East region by opening an office based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The region, which still accounts for more than half of the known conventional oil reserves, has a huge potential. Having a local presence will strengthen DNV Software’s brand and will help to provide better support for existing customers. This will also be a critical step to develop new business in the area.
The office has been officially inaugurated 1st of June 2010 with two members of staff on board:
Dr Pascal Le Gal (Sales Manager) and Ravi Tahiramani (Customer Service Manager).
DNV Software’s regional manager Zhang, Zhi Ping Stone says “I am very happy and feel confident that we have the right people at the right place in order to make together DNV Software in Abu Dhabi a successful journey!”
DNV Software’s Abu Dhabi office will be responsible for all software sales and customer service for clients based in the Middle East. The office premises are shared with DNV consultants for better collaboration and synergy. Prajeev Rasiah, the area manager for DNV Middle East operations welcomed DNV Software team to the area and expressed the support of his team towards a mutually beneficial association with close collaboration through joint initiatives.
Sudhakar Unudurti (DNV Software’s Area Manager for India & Middle East) says “This is a great step towards our ambition to be first choice for customer in the area and to establish customer service management close to the energy cluster. The energy cluster in the Middle East is one of the largest in the world mainly comprising of National Oil Companies who are facing challenges of increased production and ageing assets.”
