The new GeniE SnackPack, offered as an add-on to GeniE, brings cutting edge functionality with numerous utilities and special functions only available from DNV Software.

“The GeniE SnackPack is a huge timesaver in many different ways – for example, engineers can easily save a day’s work when they change the variables in a parametric model and automatically generate alternative models,” says Sesam product manager Ole Jan Nekstad.

The GeniE SnackPack is a new product, launched this year, and gives users functionality not available anywhere else.

Unnecessary manual labour involved in altering reports is significantly reduced – for example for a re-analysis with new sections or dimensions, one click replaces the previous process where an entire report with illustrations would have to be re-done step by step, wasting time and resources.

"Another huge benefit of the GeniE SnackPack," says Nekstad, "is that the users can learn from the many examples and make their own customised versions - this is a significant flexibility that is made possible by use of GeniE script language."

The utilities are provided as script files located in seven categories. For each example there is a short lead text and explanatory pictures on how to use the script files to generate the example. This means that you don't need to be an advanced user to use or learn from these script files, to make individualised versions of them, or even to make script files for a new type of operations.

A goal of the GeniE
GeniE SnackPack is to act as a common information site where users can exchange their own script files. "Clients are therefore challenged to upload their examples for the benefit of all GeniE users," says Nekstad.
