SCG CHEMICALS and DNV Software signed a purchase agreement on the Risk Based Inspection software Orbit Onshore and Orbit+ IDS in March.
SGC CHEMICALS is a subsidiary of the Siam Cement Group (SCG), one of the largest integrated petrochemical companies in Thailand and a key industry leader in the Asia-Pacific region. SGC CHEMICALS manufacture and supply a full range of petrochemical products, ranging from intermediate, upstream and downstream petrochemicals.

The Orbit+ platform is a flexible system which easily can connect with your existing system and make your daily work more comfortable with its strong function. Risk Based Inspection makes use of a broad range of technologies including consequence modelling, reliability and failure frequency analysis and limit-state approaches providing the industry with a risk-based method for evaluating and developing inspection plants.
"By focusing your inspection efforts on high-risk areas a lot of unnecessary and prescriptive low-value inspections can be eliminated, thus reducing costs without compromising safety or reliability", says Dr. Roger Chang, Principal Consultant, Asia Pacific Service, also the lecture owner of Risk Based Inspection.
To get familiar with and learn the software, a Risk Based Inspection training were held for a group from SCG CHEMICALS on 24-28 March, which was very well received. "After four days of training we find DNV's Risk Bases Inspection software a good tool for us to eliminate unnecessary work. Hopefully, the strong cooperation with DNV can help us deal even better with our daily inspection work," says Wee Chabthanom, Reliability Engineer at SCG CHEMICALS.
