Safeti+Public+Training+in+Shanghai

The first ever Safeti public training in China was held at the DNV Academy in Shanghai 2-5 April. It was arranged due to the increasing demand for Safeti products in the market and as a follow up of the Risk Management Conference in 2006.

The course was directed at both new users and the more experienced users who had not yet attended a formal training course. Since Safeti is by far the most comprehensive quantitative tool available for assessing process plants risks a total of 14 people participated in the training, representing the following companies:

The course covered all areas of risk modelling within Safeti v6.51. The consequence modelling included discharge, dispersion, pool formation and evaporation, fires, explosions and toxic effects. The risk modelling covered impact on the human population by taking into account meteorological data, event frequencies, ignition probabilities, and location of population areas.

During the course, the participants did get to practice and apply their new knowledge of the software through extensive hands-on workshops. The course was given entirely by Chinese, giving the attendess a very good understaning of the theoretical and practical aspects of Safeti.

On the last day of the course, all the participants received their certification successfully. DNV Software will arrange this kind of public training in China frequently according to the demand in the market.
