Following on from the DNV Software Conferences held in Oslo and Korea and the Safeti User Conference held in South Africa earlier this year, DNV Software’s Safeti Product Marketing team were back ”on the road”, hosting Safeti User Conferences in a number of locations.

Safeti User Conferences were held during October this year in Paris, Mexico and Houston; all key locations for the Safeti product suite user community. We were extremely pleased with the level of attendance and enthusiasm of the delegates at these Conferences where the aggregate attendance topped 100.

Presentations were made by DNV Software staff on a wide range of issues relating to the Safeti product suite. Topics covered at the conferences included the recently released Phast 6.53 and Leak 3.2 applications, plans for Phast 6.6 and the next generation architecture – The Safeti Risk Framework, the practical application of the Phast Financial extensions for Financial Risk and Consequence Analysis, ongoing enhancements to our mathematical modelling capabilities and the use of Phast spreadsheet import facility to model the risks posed by long pipelines.

Two key objectives of the conference were to demonstrate the new features available in Phast 6.53, particularly the Multi-Component modelling extension, spreadsheet export and new options for toxic averaging time selection, and the improvements made in the latest version of the Leak application as well as to get feedback on prioritising developments for Phast 6.6 and 7.0.

At the Houston meeting two user presentations were given; one by Kay Koslan from Dow Chemical on “Alternative Methods for Dispersion Modeling of Relief Devices” and one from Fred Allevato of DNV Energy on “Phast droplet size validation”. As usual, these user presentations were very well received and we would like to thank Kay and Fred for their contributions to a successful meeting. We now look forward to presenting the Safeti suite at the DNV Software User Conference being held in Shanghai 8-9 November.
