It was full house at the French public Phast and Safeti software training at the hotel "Le Meridien Etoile" in Paris 10-13 July. This was the second time DNV Software offered an open course in French, and like the first time the event was successful and fully booked.
Both Dr Pascal Le Gal and Yaritza Rosalia from DNV Software in London did an excellent job in holding the courses in French for the 20 participants. Yaritza held the Phast training while Pascal was in charge of the Safeti part, both helping each other out during the sessions with the eager participants and their questions.
The course attendees came from a large variety of companies: Altran Eilis, Atlantic Ingenierie, Bureau Veritas, Davidson PACA, Ligeron, FRCA Picardi, Sechaud Environnement, Specia Ingenieri, Secomat, TOTAL E.P. and URS France.

Yaritza Foucoud, far left and from the right Alex Aarvik and Pascal Le Gal, all DNV Software, with the rest of the course participants.
We received very positive feedback from the audience which was expressed by Marcel Dembélé, Safety Engineering Departement, TOTAL E.P. in this way:
"I appreciated this training very much as it gave me a more precise and complete overview of the Phast and Safeti software capabilites. Utilization of Phast is 'user friendly' but necessitates a good sense of physics magnitude in order to avoid common pitfalls in results rendering. I am particulary happy with improvements announced by DNV Software in the Phast 6.53 version, in particular with the mulit components option which will be very useful in the oil industry which deals primarily with blend mixtures. Safeti is a complex tool but indispensable to master in order to perform and interpret detailed QRA."
The software training in French has turned out very popular and due to the high demand because of the language we will arrange the next and third training session already in November 2007. The event will be advertised in the training part of our website with dates and venue in due course.
