Safeti+user+Conferences+in+full+swing

Having now completed three of the four scheduled Safeti user conferences for 2006, DNV Software is very pleased with the level of attendance and enthusiasm of the delegates so far. Meetings were held in Mexico, Philadelphia and London over the past two weeks and the aggregate attendance for the three meetings has already topped 100 delegates.

The final meeting for 2006 is scheduled for Shanghai on 9th and 10th November.
Any customers in Asia-Pacific region, or in fact anywhere in the world, who have not yet been able to attend will be warmly welcomed in Shanghai and can register on the DNV Software web site before November 2.

With a selection of user presentations and presentations from DNV Software staff on a number of issues relating to the Safeti product suite, topics covered included recent releases and future developments, the recently released Safeti Financial extensions for Financial Risk and Consequence Analysis, ongoing enhancements to our mathematical modelling capabilities and plans for the next generation architecture, focussing specifically on the implementation for Phast v7, the next generation of the Phast product. In addition, in Mexico a number of topics of particular interest to our Mexican users were added to the agenda. Supplementary presentations on creating a live connection to an AutoCAD drawing using the built in GeoMedia® functionality and features available for modelling releases from long pipelines and associated risks were added to the agenda.

In Philadelphia we included three user presentations, two from Marc Rothschild from Rohm and Haas, Bristol, PA and one from Art. Dowell from Rohm and Haas, Deer Park, TX. Art. presented his paper entitled “A Real-Life Example of Choosing an Inherently Safer Process Option Using Phast Consequence Modeling” whilst Marc gave presentations on “A Screening Tool using Phast for Quick Evaluation of Indoor Toxic Releases” and on “Modelling of Pressure Vessel Burst using the TNO and CCPS approaches”. All three presentations were very well received and we would like to thank both Marc and Art. for their contribution to a successful meeting. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Rohm and Haas, Bristol, PA for hosting the User Conference yet again.

At the London meeting, Brian Bain from DNV Energy presented his work on the “Development of Simple Consequence Tools Using Results from Phast”, whilst Mark Paton from Air Products European Headquarters in Hersham, Surrey, UK, presented his paper on the “QRA of a Chlorine Transfill facility using Safeti”. Again, these two highly relevant presentations were very well received by the delegates in attendance.

“We were very happy to host the European, US and Mexican User Conferences in the Region and we are extremely pleased with the feedback from the market regarding the future direction of our products. We would also like to thank the presenters from Rohm and Haas, Air Products and DNV Energy for the contribution made by each of them to the success of the meeting through their excellent presentations” says Jeremy Linn, Regional Manager UK, BeNeLux and Americas.

We now move on to Shanghai, for the final leg of our DNV Software Risk Conference 2006 schedule. All the presentations will be posted on the Technical Support web-site in the next few days for those who were unable to attend any of the meetings to download.
