More than 100 Nauticus and Sesam users from China's maritime and offshore industries attended DNV Software's annual user conference in Shanghai 18th of October 2006.
The conference was organized in four different sessions. Main topics were Nauticus Hull for the new Common Structural Rules (CSR), Nauticus Torsional Vibration for rotating machinery and Sesam for semi-submersibles and other offshore floaters. Reflecting the high demand for DNV's state-of-the art hydrodynamic software in China, a session for hydrodynamic analysis and direct strength assessment was performed separately.

'We are very pleased that so many users were able to participate on this year's conference taking the busy times in China into account', says Øystein Goksøyr, Regional Manager for DNV Software Greater China. 'We believe this signals DNV Software's strengthened position in the market since we established our local office in 2005.'

As previous years, the conference ended with the traditional boat trip and buffet dinner on the Hong Pu River. The general feedback from the participants was positive, with an overall impression that this was the best DNV Software conference in China so far.
