The aim of ISAS P 9001:2005 is to make sure that a press organisation is managed in such a way as to meet the highest quality standards in the following areas:

  • Service to its readers and the general public.

  • Service to the society in which it operates, notably by promoting the open flow of information essential in to democracy.

  • Service to other important stakeholders, including staff and advertisers.

The certification system is composed of:

  1. The reference standard ISAS P 9001:2005, duly registered in the independent standardisation body ISAS (International Standardization & Accreditation Services, www.isasgroup.com). The standard details the objectives to be reached in order to obtain the Certificate of Conformity by the applicant.
  2. A "Quality Manual" which complies with the requirements of international norms.
  3. Audit procedures combining written documents and two software programs called Certimedia (self-assessment) and Optimisas (management of the quality system).
